Norton, Zimbabwe
A great need for books in
Norton, Zimbabwe.
In February 2020, I traveled to Norton, Zimbabwe, and met with the Norton community to learn about their need for a free-lending library. In recent history, Zimbabwe has struggled with political unrest and unethical leadership, which has affected vulnerable groups the most.
Sadly, shortly after my first trip, COVID hit our world, which made the project of building a library extremely challenging. However, slowly, Libraries for All pushed forward with the project.
Finally, as of March 2023, the library has come together and is open to the community!
In May 2026, I had the opportunity to finally visit the library in person and spent a week painting it, along with three youth volunteers and Sheryl Guyon.
